Xenoblade Chronicles X
So....somehow this game managed to take 90 hours of my life over christmas and I'm unsure where it fit in...it certainly did not seem like 90 hours! And I'm far from completing 100%. This is one of the issues with this game....As a completionist after 90 hours I hope to be somewhere near to completing. I mean I don't mind having to abandon hope on some top level bosses (weapons anyone) just because but this was just no. I had other games to play and a life to live. And I like my games finished. I'm not the type to dip into it when I have so many other things to do, I like to play and finish! (Not counting specials to my heart like monster hunter/pokemon/Wow/ Realm Reborn). Also for me personally there was just not enough story to go with the endless supply of optional missions. What was I doing it for if I didn't care so much about the characters. This may have been due to an important plot point being revealed to me before I'd sat down to play, taking away one of the few story moments anyway. The game was enjoyable for what is what though....adventuring and exploring this new planet. My other problem was the difficulty curve with the last boss. As I had spent so much more time doing the extra quests I felt ENTITLED (yep) to certain privileges. Like not having to grind for the last boss...I was thinking that I've played this so long that I must be ready...right? Turns out my Hubby put in half the time but instead of side quests he worked on getting a good weapon and beat the boss no problem whereas I had issues....NOT FAIR in my book! The final scenes were lackluster in my opinion (bar one plot twist) and the after credit scene perfectly suited the lack of story the game had managed to achieve...no answers...your getting nothing! Anticlimactic if you ask me. Yet I still enjoyed this game! Just don't go in with the opinion that its going to be like original Xenoblade chronicles. No Reyn Time here!
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Bit of a gap since my last games played so time to update! Well, back on form for the games I like best! The ones that allow me to be a completionist without too much effort, just the right amount :D! This game was stunning! And being the first Xbox one game I've played on our giant projector I'm even more impressed. Stunning scenery from the get go and that classic 'MUST FIND EVERYTHING!' feeling made this probably my game of the year for 2015. I liked the plot twists that occurred and a very likeable immortal man to boot. I found the deaths of Lara a bit less graphically shocking then the first Tomb raider. I'm keeping it short and sweet because its been a while since I played this and as this blog is just for me to remember what I've played I have a lot of catching up to do!

Layton saga! - A village, a box, a future, a spectre and a mask
So in the past few months my completion record has gone wayyyy down but I'm completely blaming that on exams and also the amount of new hobbies I've picked up...if I could fit anymore in! But recently I started about a billion different games so the completions will start to filter in gradually! After exams I felt like my brain could do with some more stimulation so I picked up the first five layton games. To date I've only completed the first three but I thought they deserved a write up separate, as picking up spectres call feels like a different tale to tell. So I had completed curious village when it first came out as well as this run through so there weren't many surprises there for me. I had however forgot how hard some of these puzzles would be. Upon startng Pandoras box I was wary and cautious of even the simplest puzzle at the start, so much that I was tricking myself out of obvious answers that were 'entry level'. I guess thats the negative of running through the games one after the other, you have to realise the new game cartridge means back to basics. I hadn't felt like these games were more then just some puzzles to complete until the end of Lost future when I had to deal with THIS FACE! Oh god the feels! Now I love Layton more then any other gentleman and think all future games are worthy of more of my time!

Persona 3
After more then a year and many obstacles I have finally completed this awesome game. I initially started it as FES on PS3 but then after that funeral bestie lent me her PSP copy and I had to start again. It was a slow burner as the dungeons are quite repetitive and it doesn't have the same feel good characters as P4. Don't get me wrong I loved this game but I was constantly comparing it with persona4 and so its flaws were quite apparent. Had I played this initially before P4 I'm sure I would have been raving. The story was decent yet there were no big turn around moments that I felt shocked at until the very end, and even then I was left slightly dumbstruck like 'oh, so that's it?'
So my dear Master Jeremey did not leave as much of a impression on me as Mr Jeremey and his strange moments during romancing of robot girl Aigis was a little bit uncomfortable...Please touch my heart so I can absorb your oils?....yeah...weird. Although Aigis' little peglegs were highly amusing to me and bestie.
Now I don't usually go in for the annoying kid character but I fould Junpei, with his ooo I'm in love with a crazy woman, much more irritating then Ken, that kid had seen some shit! Thats why him and adorable Koromaru were in my ultimate team. Yukari was a bit generic and Mitsuru was the 'responsible one'. Akihiko was brilliant, keeping up that silver haired Lothario act and Fuuka had started off weak but she turned out to be pretty cool. The cast however seemed weak compared with P4 and I had a hard time sympathising with some of them.
The story was a bit predictable as I knew that Ikutski was a little bit odd from the start, the addition of STREGA and essentially Jesus should have arrived earlier and with a little more back story.
Awesome intro to FES though
