Been a while since I last completed a game....I seem to have started very many long or not finish-able games. So watch this space for Xenoblade, Xillia, Realm Reborn and Persona as these are like to take up most my time! But first Animal Crossing!
So I've had this game since June but as you can't really complete it I wasn't sure when a good time to have a rant about it would be. Now is the time!!
So it starts on a train and you think 'Yay moving to a new town!' But then for some reason all the animal citizens of this town have taken some serious memory displacement drug at some point in time and think you are the mayor. Cue many a day spent collecting fish, bugs and selling anything that may come into your possession so that you can pay off a seemingly endless loan leading to your 4x4 house one day becoming a home you can be proud of.......or a museum for nintendo memorabilia.
So your town gets allocated a certain randomly selected array of personalities and mine seem to have been picked from the back alley of an insane asylum. I originally had only two residents worth keeping which, through some awesome style choices, has been upgraded to three. Chief, the loveable fox rogue, Buck the friendliest guy in town and more recently, Pashmina, because she is now sporting the smartest threads in town. These are the elite of my town and who I must constantly run small fetching errands and delivery missions for so that they don't leave my humble Midgar for Bell End. (Yes my husband named his town Bell End.) I am constantly ignoring the other delinquents in hopes they would leave and be replaced with someone as cool as camo frog.
This game may sound simplistic with its constant fetching and carrying quests but I find myself addicted to making my town look nice and forever earning money to pay off the legend that is Sir Tom Nook. My house is decorated with the remnants of an underground lab and a horrifying scary Gyroid basement but I do have a lovely green room for when friends wish to stay. I may take interior decorating advice from my animal crossing home when I purchase a house IRL.....
If you're clever you can make your residents say the following:
Nice one Andy!
