So I am just flying through these Bioshock games and I am addicted. This second installment sees even more amazing scenery, sound and characters but is, unfortunately for me, a lot scarier! In original Bioshock and this one I had almost managed to explore every nook and cranny available until after so many frights I approached a small optional room with autopsy wrote above. As I peered inside and took a step to complete exploration the lights started flickering and a hanging silhoutte was shown.....that's it....no more....too many scaredy jumps previously meant I just could not do it! Hopefully there was only an EVE Hypo inside.
The story is, once again, made a lot clearer if you collect all the hidden recordings and explore a lot. I was picking up recordings from this dad who went in search of his daughter only to find that she had been turned into a Little Sister. The recordings stopped and then after killing a big Daddy I realised he had the same name as the guy on the recordings. This was an awesome little side story that would have been completely missed if I had sped through the game.
I loved playing as a Big Daddy because, although I dislike children, Little Sisters are awesome in this game. It's about as maternal as I'm going to get but I really wanted to protect these stab happy children. Also I saw the original enemy (Big Daddy) as more of a victim, if I was ever to play through both again it would be a nice change of perspective for the first one. You have the choices to Harvest or Save little Sisters again but also with another option to adopt, get them to gather more ADAM and then harvest or save. Typically I saved them all again and was treated to what I think was the happiest ending you could get. There are also three optional enemies you come across that you can choose to save or kill which affects the ending.
On my travels around Rapture I was looting a lot (I love to loot) and I couldn't help but notice my Big Daddy had a taste for potato chips. This opened a whole lot of questions, as I am left thinking how the hell do I manage to eat those......
