Told you I was completing these games in super fast time. This one took me just a day. I must be addicted. This game is one of the most stunning and beautiful games I have seen. It is so beautiful I just wanted to stay in it for ever.....except for the whole 'we hate Irish people and ethnic people' thing they got going on. The story is a little confusing but I am totally playing it again to try to understand more. You are this guy named Booker and if you go to this floating city and take this girl trapped in a tower to this guy in New York then all your gambling debts will be written off. Simple to start with. Then this girl starts opening tears in time a space and it gets a little confuddled. Turns out people can be alive and dead and stuff....yeah...
Characters in this world are some of the best I've seen. The ever puzzling Lutece twins are amazing and interaction with them is usually hilarious. Elizabeth is not some weak girl who stumbles after the hero, she is very likeable character and quite handy in a fight, as well as when exploring. She will toss you things like money (I love loot) and potions when fighting, Ammo if you're running low and Salts to refill your scary hand magic.
My favorite moment in this game is when I got all of a sudden transported into Rapture for a brief moment and seeing, what I think, was a little Sister and Big Daddy in a tube in the distance. I had grown quite fond of Rapture and I thought this was an awesome addition. I also thought I had escaped the frights but they still managed to sneak one in, intentional or not. As I am up in a tower after pressing a button with no one about, I turn around and right there all of a sudden is some alarm guy who starts alarming in my face. Probably the biggest jump I have ever had...ever.
Voxophones are hidden throughout levels to give you more insight and in this very confusing place you will want to find them. There is an awesome huge robot thing named songbird which is quite terrifying until he is on your side, then hes briefly awesome and a good contribution to the last fight. The one thing I feel lacking is The final fight is just a big free for all and I was hoping for an awesome singular boss fight with changing mechanics. I already want to play this game again though which can not be a bad thing. Also I walked into a bar and considering it's 1908 heard a little AC/DC and another bar had tainted love.
Also it seems Booker Dewitt likes looking in trash cans....
